So This Guy Goes For A Walk

The story "The Pedestrian" is about a man walking and getting stopped by a police man and being questioned a lot. As he was heading home he noticed that the streets were lonely, no one was outside it was quiet and peaceful. You realize how the world can change in a blink of an eye within seconds for a better or for a worst. Things you thought are normal for you can possibly not be normal to those in these generations. Now just imagine getting pulled over by a police man for walking late night, I see nothing wrong with that for others it can be bad. Imagine you wanting to go out for a walk and seeing a policeman you can be afraid if even going out thinking it’s trouble or something. Now days policeman do abuse over those who have the right to do things or being prohibited things. You don’t even know what’s right or what wrong.

Let Me Walk You Through The Pedestrian

     The perspective in how people see things before and now are so different. Now all you see is people being on a electronic device, playing games having fun, before there were people who just had fun playing outside. Technology is what is mostly used now, even younger kids have the use of technology not only for school or anything school associated but for the use of social media.

      The tone in this short story is very quiet and lonely due to only one character being introduced. In the story it said that the character Leonard Mead lived alone, enjoyed his time alone going on long walks and had no jobs. Although Leonard Mead was described as a man who was passionate about enjoying his late night walks alone and he also had a different perspective in how he saw the world. This also makes me feel or think that due technology people will be lonely and will depend more on the technology then going out and having fun with friends. Adding to that it’s also sad to say people let technology take over there life.

     Bradbury’s tone is also filled with anger because he got stopped by a police for no reason. It showed us that what those policeman were doing was wrong because they are just arresting an innocent man. I have a feeling the message he is wanting to give us is that we need to stand up for ourselves when we need to or when we are being out down for things we weren’t capable of causing or doing. This story was basically about a single character with no humans around him.
   
     The main point/ plot of this story is that Leonard Mead is the guy who randomly has late night walks. The way Mead reacted about the police car shows how not everyone has the same point of view that a person sees thing being done. If a different behavior is being used that obviously the outcome would have came out differently maybe more aggressive. He then realized what the use of technology has done, it has made people depend more on the technology. If nothing is being done to remove it or prevent it then best believe it will worsen.

     Overall, the tone of this story does not change through the story. Technology has a big impact in today’s society. It makes either have a good access to it or not because it stops you from having interactions with people, use of technology has you basically on social media. The use of technology is overpowering the community. For others taking a walk late night can be scary but for Mead it is just something he does daily. Our generation has gone from enjoy a beautiful day outside to just being stuck up on your electronic device.

Story Of My Life

An event in my life that I can turn into a short story is when I went on a road trip to Mexico. This road trip took about 26 hours. Yes, I understand it does seem long but once your on the road it goes by fast. I love having to go on road trips to Mexico because we pass through so many places. I love getting to travel and see new places I've never been too. Travelling has always been something I enjoy doing. In this Trip I got to eat so many food such as tacos, mariscos, and roasted chicken. I had such a great time in Mexico enjoying my few days with all my family. The sad part is having toleave and going back to visit every year.

How To Get Along Online

Three things on how to have a good conversation online can be :

• Asking questions, getting to know each other. Telling each other facts and just building up a friendship. 
• Mentioning things you both dislike or like, try to find things in common.
• Start with something small what I mean is a a small conversations and as the days go by increasing the time in texting. Make the conversation interesting. 

The Art Of Hosting Good Conversations Online

After reading " The art of hosting good conversations online" I learned that online discussions enable people to make contact with other or help people show others about themselves beyond their usual masks. Being a host or hosting for something has a different job, for example a host can be a character in a show or a host can also be like hosting a party. A host has to make rules for what they expect to happen that the guest have to follow or communities learning to create their own way of describing something. Whether your hosting something or being a host you have to have a behavior patience or being cautious of the things being taken in action. Overall, its all about creating, experimenting, and exploring together.

Same Words Different People

Two things I understand from October 10 is that Open source is a source code that is free to the public to copy, use, modify, and distribute(share) with others. I finally have a good definition that is understandable and clear with what open source actually is. Another thing I learned is that a Tesla has an open source and that is you get a source code you can get to make it yourself, get to build it just like you want it to be.

1. Theme: central topic or idea explored in a text
The American Civil War was the central theme of the book.
2. Affirm: state as a fact, assert strongly and publicly.
Before I buy something expensive I always affirm it's value.
3. Internet: a vast computer network linking smaller computer networks worldwide
The Internet is very useful when we need to research something.
4. Tone: the attitude or approach that the author takes toward the work's central theme or subject.
The tone of the author of the book I read sounded scared and traumatized.
5. Myth: legendary or a traditional story that usually concerns an event or a hero, with or without using factual or real explanations.
My mom tells me that the Llorona is not a myth.
6. Ucanny: strange or mysterious, especially in an unsettling way
A ucanny feeling is being felt watched on.
7. Insatiable: impossible to satisfy
I've always had an insatiable thought of life.
8. Kudos: praise and honor received for an achievement

Letter to a Mentor Draft 1

Dear Ghost,
         
               I have a question due to you guys actually caring about the harm you cause the people who suffer through being ghosted on. Do you? I know I won't ever get an answer to this but this is something I ask myself. I have never been in a situation of being ghosted and hope I never will. IT'S SCARY ! If you are being ghosted on I don't know exactly how it feels but don't let it upset you or make the harming worse. Barring your few exceptions, ghosting is generally the cowardly way out. Ghost leaves people hurt and confused. The best way to to get slowly out of it is to not let it take it route back into your life.

The Value Of My Time

Some investments I am making today that help me right now are trying to go to school everyday, I know this will help me a lot right now because I get to get my education. This school year has started off bad, I try my best to go to my classes and go and learn something new. There are times where I miss school and come back lost not knowing what to do. So know I am trying to dedicate most of my time to school. I got a lot of stress due to me being behind in my classes and the way I relieve it is by going out for a walk and calming myself down. Some investments I am making right now that will help me later on to achieve my goal in the future is again putting in my dedication on school. This will all help me achieve my goal of majoring in nursing. I just hope my dedication on school will increase fast.

How I Read

After Dr Preston read out loud in class his post on HOW WE READ, I understood many things. A thing I understood of his post was that connotation stands for the feel of a word and that amateurs love what they do. Amateurs are people that are less proficient. I also understood that you don't need to read something that shows you a way to ready but for you to learn and read something your own way. Read something you know you will enjoy and will get the main point of the reading. A book that you will understand and enjoy that when you are done reading it you can say "what a great book" or you missing the book. If you are told by your English teacher to read a book please do and get a purpose out of it. Don't just read a random book and not learn anything out of it.

Investing In Me

I've actually been thinking about how I'm going to start fundraising for my life after high school. I actually want to attend a college or university I am still undecided on where I want to go, either way both are expensive. Lately, I have had a thought of looking for a job and start saving the money I get into a savings account for when I leave high school. I can use that money for many things.
